Kona has been in our family since she was 8 weeks old; she was advertised as a 4th of July special as she and her litter were born of a purebred Chesapeake and an unknown sire. A Black Lab and Great Dane mix, she was a very striped puppy and was readily accepted by the family cats as one of their own. Kona never was interested in retrieving but could sniff a vole out of the ground. She excelled at catching popcorn and refereeing cat fights. She passed 3 weeks before her 13th birthday. The mourninglight is perfect for the up-coming memorial our family is having to honor her.
