Gizmo was a very special, very intelligent cat.
I know everyone feels the same way about their own pet, but if I listed all
the reasons, you would be bored to tears! We taught him to say "mama"; he
absolutely loved being around home improvement projects, and was not afraid
of power tools like drills and saws; when vacuuming, he would just, lie on
the rug and just look at you, like, "You wouldn't dare hit me with that!" I
truly believe it's because we rescued him at the age of four weeks and
raised him ourselves. Looking back, he was probably abandoned by his mother
because he was ill. We never found out exactly what killed him. He began
losing weight, and by the time we got tests done, his white blood count was
off, he had a low blood pressure and heart rate, his kidneys were failing
(an x-ray showed one was deformed). They couldn't perform tests to find out
what the cause was until they stabilized his vitals, but he never got
better, and he went that day. In all that time, he never acted ill, never
cried once, and loved life.
